Jekyll Island RV Park
1197 Riverview Drive
Jekyll Island, GA 31527
Rates: The rate schedule on the website does not provide anything more than a daily rate, but this would be a great place to stay a week or a month.
Lots: This is a large lot. It is on an Island and in a state park, this is a beautiful park. About half the lots are back in lots the other half are pull through. There are some tent camping lots as well. All lots are dirt and packed sand based. Mature trees are everywhere I’m talking everything from palm trees to live oaks. The park is well laid out around the trees and I’m upgrading it from beautiful to, gorgeous.
Amenities: Water – Yes, Electric – Yes (30 and 50), Sewer – Yes, TV – Yes, Internet – Yes.
Other Conveniences: General Store offering supplies, firewood, propane, bike rentals, shower, laundry, Pickleball (sorry I do not know what this is)
Other Inconveniences: No Fenced in Dog Walk, No Playground for Kids
Positives: Location. Being on Jekyll Island is awesome. Driftwood Beach is less than a mile down the road, the historic district would be on the list of visit sites and there are a number of eating places around the island. Angela and I could stay here a month and never leave the island, though we probably would because St. Simons Island is also beautiful and only about 5 miles from here. There is a bike trail that goes all the way around Jekyll Island.
Negatives: Humidity and bugs are a problem, that’s just part of being in this area so there’s not much that can be done about that. The ground is packed sand and you tend to get sand on everything unless you continually wash (RV, Car, Carpet, etc.). Even though it’s a large park with all the trees, some of the lots can be a bit tight.
