December 25, 2014 – Christmas Day (By Jimmy)
It’s the day we call Christmas, and in the RV,
Nothing is stirring save Angela and me.
We had the traditional gathering at Uncle Joe’s.
The food was wonderful as this morning’s scale shows.
The presents unwrapped with holiday cheer.
It’s always festive having the family near.
Only Uncle Joe’s left now that Uncle Ross passed,
but the memories remain to make Christmases last.
We talked and played games; this one gave us fits,
Opening chocolate kisses while wearing oven mitts.
Cousin Rebellie, Kim, and Charlie were there,
Cousin Jenny, Mike, and Paisley (blonde hair).
My brother was there, and what do you know,
So was Kyle and cousin Macy Jo.
My Momma and Tom could not settle down;
my daughter Clarissa was running around
Don’t forget Aunt Sharon the host of it all;
the party was great, everyone had a ball.
Having the RV with us was a godsend you see,
we were not tied to a house in Tennessee.
We could travel about and have folks over, too;
we had flexibility in the things we could do.
We had a great time with our family and friends;
sometimes you wish things didn’t have to end.
This week was grand, and we all made the most.
Merry Christmas to all as we head for the coast.
